DJ’s Damien Hirst print sent to charity shop
Chris Evans has lost a valuable print by Damien Hirst - after his driver accidentally delivered it to a charity shop.
The "dot picture" was placed in one of several boxes being sent to charity shops when the newly-married DJ got ready to move house.
But the print, signed by the artist famed for pickling sheep, was meant to go to the new home Evans is to share with golfer wife Natasha Shishmanian.
The star told Radio 2 listeners on his show: "I've been moving house recently. Some of the stuff goes in boxes to stay and some to go. We took all the pictures down.
"In one of the boxes to go was a Damien Hirst print signed by Damien Hirst. I just found out... it's somewhere in a charity shop in Godalming (in Surrey)."
Evans, 42, said he was still in a "caravan" waiting to move to his new home.
His driver said on air that he visited charity shops in Godalming and Cranleigh, also in Surrey, and he did not know which of the shops the print was left in.
He said: "I'm not a Damien Hirst fan. I know he does things that involve stuffing sheep. I can go back there to see if it's around if you want but now you've gone on air they'll be inundated."
