Lancashire solicitors’ staff complete charity fundraising Race For Life at Aintree Racecourse
Staff at Mooney Everett Solicitors in Ormskirk got on their training gear for a race of their lives at the weekend. Anne Wright, Emma Preston, Susan Ward, Julia Griffiths, Lisa Lupton and Jemma Ball all took part in the Cancer Research Race For Life 5K around Aintree Racecourse on Saturday.
They all completed the distance in under an hour and have raised over £1,400 for the charity.
Lisa, a conveyancing assistant who lives in Burscough, ran the race with her daughter Georgina in memory of her dad Ron.
“He suffered with lung cancer and died aged 73. He used to be a MOT inspector of heavy goods vehicles at Simonswood.
“He and my mum Barbara were together for nearly 50 years and had me and my older sister Sylvia. He was a very reserved, laid-back and kept himself to himself.
“The Race For Life was a nice anniversary present for his memory as it is four years since we lost him.”
The group all decided to take part in the race after Anne suggested the idea in the office.
