Bank's charity wins hearty staff approval

Scottish Widows staff are to benefit after the company's owner Lloyds TSB Group struck a deal to back the British Heart Foundation.

They have already received free vascular risk assessments at Scottish Widows' headquarters in Morrison Street and Dalkeith Road. More than 144 bookings were made, with the sessions being so popular that the nurses will be running a second set of assessments this week.

Lloyds TSB Group staff voted in their droves to name the BHF as their charity for the next two years, which will see the Lloyds TSB group aiming to raise in excess of £2 million for the charity.

The money raised will be used to increase the number of BHF heart nurses so that heart patients and their families receive the care they need. It is hoped the money will fund 15 new BHF Heart Nurses in local communities, which will help support more than 8400 heart patients.
