Physiotherapists to trek 86km for prostate cancer charity
A Yorkshire woman and her friend have set themselves a £10,000 fundraising target in aid of The Prostate Cancer Charity. Physiotherapists, Gemma Plowright and Laura Proctor will aim to complete a 86km mountain trek in New Zealand this November and the pair are also planning to organise a whole host of local fundraising events to raise cash for the charity.
The Prostate Cancer Charity, which offers support and information to anyone affected by prostate cancer, is a charity close to the heart of 26-year-old Gemma as her father, Richard, is currently battling the disease after being diagnosed with it last year and he has undergone two operations and is now receiving radiotherapy at St James’s Hospital, Leeds.
Gemma and Laura, have been raising awareness of prostrate cancer in the Leeds and Harrogate area. To support the girls visit their website at www.justgiving.com/prostatetreknz09
