Computer viruses getting stronger
Protecting your computer against viruses and attacks is getting tougher and tougher. A surge in viruses and malicious software, or "malware," are keeping computer technicians busier than ever.
The viruses are more sophisticated and stronger than ever, which can bypass the most expensive anti-virus software.
It is estimated that about two percent of virus now use stealth technology. This is when a viris will infiltrate in many parts, which allows the virus to avoid detection.
There has also been a rise in what is known as ‘buy me’ viruses. These are a pop-up which warns you've been infected, and offers the anti-virus software you have to buy. It's comparable to extortion on the internet.
The virus can block your internet access. If you buy the bogus fix, the virus creator now has your credit card number, information on your identity, plus the fee you paid. While anti-virus software may not provide 100 protection, it's still important. Although two percent may evade your anti-virus software its better than 100 percent.
