Dentist gearing up for a round-the-world charity challenge
Dentist Brendan Ball 57, from Freshbrook Dental Practice, will down tools for three months from May 2008 to travel the world on his motorbike.
The trip will raise cash for a Chernobyl children's charity as well as Brendan's own charity Smilemenders.Planning for the trip has been ongoing for two years.
"One of the hardest parts of the journey is going to be travelling the same route of the Trans-Siberian Railway," said Brendan.
Brendan will not be alone on the trip. Joining him will be wife Natasha, 47, who is from the Ukraine.
The couple leave Swindon on June 3 when they fly to Canada.
After crossing North America by plane, they will fly on to Japan and then go by ship to Vladivostok in Russia. They will then get on their bike to travel across Russia, through Kazakhstan, and into Ukraine.
There they will drop off vital medical supplies and visit some of the people Brendan has met on previous visits and others who have visited him at his practice in the UK.
